Custom Pantries: Smart Storage Solutions
Builder-grade pantries waste 40-50% of available space. Standard wire shelving sags under weight, creates uneven surfaces where small items fall through gaps, and offers zero flexibility. Serving homeowners throughout Florida’s Suncoast, More Space Place designs custom pantries in our Clearwater facility—manufactured for your specific space, storage preferences, and cooking habits.
Whether you’re organizing a walk-in pantry with floor-to-ceiling shelving or maximizing a compact reach-in pantry, professional custom pantries transform chaotic food storage into functional, accessible systems. Adjustable shelving adapts to different item heights. Pull-out baskets bring back-row items forward. Specialized storage accommodates everything from bulk paper goods to spice collections.
We also design custom closets for complete home organization.

Walk-In Pantries vs. Reach-In Pantries
Custom pantries adapt to any kitchen configuration. Walk-in pantries (typically 4-6 feet deep by 4-8 feet wide) accommodate floor-to-ceiling shelving on three walls with a center aisle. Strategic design positions heavy items like bulk flour and bottled water on lower shelves, frequently used items at eye level, and rarely accessed items on upper shelves. Corner lazy Susan shelves or pull-out units bring hidden storage into reach.
Reach-in pantries work within tighter constraints—often just 24 inches deep and 3-4 feet wide. Shallow shelving (10-12 inches deep) lets you see every item without excavating. Pull-out drawers bring back-row items forward. Vertical dividers organize baking sheets, cutting boards, and cooling racks. Door-back storage captures unused space for spices, condiments, and wraps.
Custom pantries use solid shelving rated for heavy weight loads without deflection. Adjustable shelf holes let you modify configurations as storage needs evolve—your pantry adapts rather than requiring replacement.

Build Out Your Pantry with Accessories and Options
When custom pantries designed by More Space Place have design options like tilt-out hampers and slide out drawers, or even pull out ironing boards and the number one favorite, multiple pantry racks for baking products, spices and those things you may need to pull out and use at any given time just pull it out and when you’re done, push it back into place. And we have made every effort to bring those hard to reach or hard to even see items – hidden corners – to the counter. And with our adjustable shelving, we can accommodate most any size and product that you typically find in your pantry.
Our More Space Place designs can also include deeper shelving that can store small appliances or even counter/space for prepping a meal. Our designs can include hampers for recycling and trash. We don’t just offer attractive colors, materials and door styles, we bring you that functionality, flexibility and accessibility.
FAQs: Custom Pantries
How much do custom pantries cost?
Custom pantries pricing depends on size, finish selection, and accessories. Reach-in pantry organization systems typically start around $800-$1,200 for basic configurations. Walk-in pantries with extensive shelving, pull-out drawers, and specialized accessories range $2,500-$5,000. The designer provides exact pricing during your free consultation.
Can you organize existing pantries or do you only work in new construction?
We organize existing pantries in established homes. The designer evaluates current dimensions and creates a custom solution for your space. Installation doesn’t require construction permits or structural modifications—just secure mounting to wall studs.
How long does custom pantry installation take?
Most reach-in pantries install in 2-3 hours. Walk-in custom pantries require 3-5 hours depending on complexity. Installation teams complete all assembly on-site and verify accessibility before leaving.
What's the difference between laminate and wood pantry finishes?
Both materials offer the same structural strength and weight capacity. Laminate provides excellent moisture resistance (important in high-humidity Florida) at accessible pricing. Wood finishes offer natural beauty and premium aesthetics. Your choice depends on whether the pantry is visible from main living spaces and your budget.
Do custom pantries increase home value?
Kitchen storage is a top priority for homebuyers. Custom pantries demonstrate thoughtful design and professional organization. While you might not recoup 100% of investment at resale, custom pantries make homes more competitive in listing photos and showings.
